Title The What and How of a Consulting Practice
Date/Day Mar 28, Tue
Time 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm
Place GYC Financial Advisory Meeting Room
Speaker Charles Loh, Managing Director, Security Consulting, CISCO Security Pte Ltd
Synopsis
Consulting has been considered by many people as a superb second career. At the same time, downsizing and reengineering trends in the industry are also making a lot of middle managers involuntary consultants. How do hugely successful consulting companies like IBM, PWC, CapGermini carry out their consulting work? How does one break into this field?
We have invited Charles Loh, Class of 1986 to share with us his experience on how he moved from a military career to a consulting career, first with Cap Germini, then PWC, which was later acquired by IBM Consulting. More recently, Charles has been hunted down to head the Security Consulting practice of CISCO Security Pte Ltd as Managing Director.
If you are thinking of how to leverage your years of experience and turn it into a consulting practice, this is the talk you should not miss. The easy way for most of us is to become lecturers. Perhaps, after this talk, you may want to re-package your skills and experience and get better returns as a consultant. Don't miss this chance to get into the mind of a consultant. We want to deeply thank Charles Loh for taking time off from his family to share with us.
